Museum Kunst der Verlorenen Generation
In collaboration with my colleague, I redesigned the website for the Museum Kunst der Verlorenen Generation, that brings new visibility to a group of artists whose lives and work were profoundly shaped – and often overshadowed – by the events of the 20th century.
The goal was to modernize the visual appearance and improve usability, while respecting the existing structure and content.
The redesign has been completed and is currently in development.
Web Redesign
The museum’s existing website had become visually outdated and lacked structure, making it difficult for visitors to navigate or access key information about the museum’s exhibitions and the collection.
THE PROBLEM
Approach & Process
Our approach centered on visual reduction, clear hierarchy, and thoughtful typography. I began with a UX research phase to identify user needs and navigation issues, followed by a revised sitemap to clarify structure.
Rather than a complete overhaul, our task was to preserve the site’s basic framework while improving usability and giving the design a contemporary feel. I refined layout and navigation to better guide users through the content – while maintaining the museum’s unique atmosphere.
With a more modern and intuitive design, the new website brings clarity to the experience – highlighting the museum’s mission while allowing its unique artworks to stand out.
